Welcome to Glimpes of Glory, as seen through a Dark glass. Grab a cup of tea and I’ll tell you a bit about myself. I live in Surrey, BC with my husband and our two youngest children. I am presently nearing the end of a BA in Leadership at Trinity Western University, but between all that reading and writing I teach piano, sing, and play online Scrabble. Hanging out with my little grandson is one of life’s special blessings!
My first novel, Threaten to Undo Us won the historical fiction category in the 2016 The Word Guild awards. Two of my inspirational short stories are in Hot Apple Cider with Cinnamon. You will find more blog posts including book reviews, and commentary on history, at RoseSeilerScott.com
I am a follower of Christ, of an evangelical persuasion, and that worldview colours my perspective, even though much of what I write is for a general audience. In my writing journey, I have discovered it is nearly impossible for me to not write about the faith which defines who I am: a woman created and loved by God. The more I get to know Jesus, the more I am compelled to point people towards Him. When it comes to musing on the deeper matters of life, I find no other perspective truly helpful.
The title “Glimpses of Glory, as seen through a Dark glass,” is from 1 Corinthians 13: 12, because it speaks to the fact that we won’t ever have all the answers we’d like here on earth. At the same time, when we sincerely seek God, we will encounter glimpses of His glory.
Whether speaking or writing, I want my words to be gracious and God-honouring, but I won’t shy away from truth. In that same light, you and your comments are welcome here.
